Vote: Best position player acquisitions?

The Cubs hope Alfonso Soriano will improve their struggling offense.
It seems that all the big free agent signings this offseason were heavily flawed in one way or another.

Alfonso Soriano can't get on base. Carlos Lee is fat and slow. J.D. Drew is made of glass. Juan Pierre can't hit a homer to save his life. Shea Hillenbrand is a clubhouse cancer. Mike Piazza and Frank Thomas are old and busted.

Do any of these players sound risky to you? If so, congratulations! You are not qualified to be a major league baseball general manager. These seven players were given contracts with a total value of more than $383 million. All in all, more than $1.6 billion has been committed to players this offseason, with several still left unsigned.
