Vote: What do you make of the free-agent market?



Is Adalius Thomas the best free agent on the market?
Less like browsing on Rodeo Drive than hunting at a flea market, free agency in the NFL increasingly seems to be a search for gems hidden amongst junk.

Unlike the other three major professional leagues in the United States, the NFL doesn't see a lot of its big-name stars changing teams on the open market each offseason. But just because names like Petyon Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson or Shawne Merriman aren't likely to pop up in free agency doesn't mean it's a useless exercise.

From emerging stars (Adalius Thomas) to seasoned veterans (Patrick Kerney) and short-term solutions (Jeff Garcia), valuable players are available as unrestricted free agents this year. Throw in the intrigue surrounding restricted free agents like Matt Schaub and Michael Turner and it shapes up as an interesting shopping season.
