The 2007 NFL schedule is out! And that means it's time to start overanalyzing each teams schedule and making predictions for '07, even before the NFL draft changes each team's makeup. But before we do that let's take a look at what SportsNation predicted for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2006 and what their final record actually looked like.
2006 SportsNation Prediction: 14-2
2006 Tampa Bay Buccaneers record: 4-12
Entering the 2006 season the Bucs had a brutal schedule, questions at quarterback, and an aging defense, so a 14-2 prediction is beyond explanation . . . but we'll try before giving you a final grade. The positives heading into '06 included a defense ranked number one overall in 2005 and the apparent emergence of Cadillac Williams at running back. But that's not enough to justify such lofty expectations. In 2005 quarterback Chris Simms was a mixed bag at best and struggled in the playoffs; this coupled with questions over Williams' durability, an older defense, and a schedule that included eight games against 2005 playoff teams, seals the verdict: F!
