Vote: Who were baseball's best in April?

Alex Rodriguez has been in a groove and clutch in April.
April is rapidly coming to a close, and it's time to assess the first full month of Major League baseball's 2007 season.

We've already seen an historic start to the season by Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who has done much to silence his preseason critics. He's been the lone bright spot for the Yankees, who are mired in injuries and lacking quality pitching. Kei Igawa has proved an early disappointment, while fellow countryman Daisuke Matsuzaka has pitched well but unluckily. Oddly enough, the two most unheralded Japanese imports - Akinori Iwamura and Hideki Okajima - have also been the most effective. Perennial sluggers Vladimir Guerrero, Travis Hafner and Jim Thome have torn through opposing pitchers, but Rangers stalwarts Michael Young and Mark Teixeira are stuck in month-long slumps.

In the National League, the Cubs are rejoicing in Rich Hill's sub-0.50 ERA, but despondent at high-priced acquisition Alfonso Soriano's slow start. The Phillies and Mets are wondering about the slow start of Ryan Howard and the disappearance of David Wright's power, respectively. Albert Pujols has turned in an April to forget, while Tim Hudson has regained his past form thus far.
