The Mitchell report, an exhaustive investigation of the issue of steroids in baseball, was released on Major League Baseball's website Thursday afternoon. The report names a number of current and former Major League players, including former Cy Young winner Roger Clemens. Mitchell makes a number of recommendations to Major League Baseball, including establishing a Department of Investigations, cooperating more effectively with law enforcement, investigating violations, establishing clear rules on substance violations, and logging packages sent to players.
Regardless of how effective the Mitchell report is in addressing the problem of performance-enhancers in baseball, one thing is clear: people still have strong opinions about the subject. Now that the report has finally been made public, we'd like to know your reaction to it, SportsNation! Will baseball ever be steroid-free? Who is to blame for there being a problem in the first place? Give us your vote!
