Vote: Would Bill Parcells be a good fit for Falcons?
Bill Parcells would begin this rebuilding job from the front office.
It appears Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is wasting neither time nor resources in trying to reverse course with his beleaguered franchise.
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Blank is close to luring Bill Parcells away from the television studio to take over the front office for the Falcons. Picking up the pieces in the wake of the scandal that sent former franchise cornerstone Michael Vick to prison, a season that subsequently went awry and a coach in Bobby Petrino who went running to Arkansas before completing his first campaign, Blank wants Parcells to take over as vice president of football operations. The former coach of the Giants, Patriots and Cowboys would be in charge of hiring a new coach but would not hire himself, according to Mortensen.
Is this the last act of an owner in panic mode or the first step to rebuilding a franchise? What does Parcells have to work with in Atlanta? Did his stint in Dallas prove he still has an eye for championship-caliber talent? Sound off on big questions for the Big Tuna.
