Vote: New Orleans Saints in 2008

Saints

The 2008 NFL schedule is out! And that means it's time to start overanalyzing each team's schedule and making predictions for 2008. Sure, the NFL draft may not have arrived yet and training camps are months away, but that's not going to stop SportsNation from getting its picks in, right? But before you get to prognosticating, let's take a look back and see how SportsNation has fared in its quest to predict the Saints' record in each of the past two years:

SportsNation Schedule Prediction History
2006
2007
SN Prediction:
11-5
16-0
Actual record:
10-6
7-9

Stunning Selections
16-0? Are you serious? We're not even sure where to start with you, Saints fans. Winning a playoff game against the Eagles must have really gone to your heads. Looking over the selections, two in particular stand out: expected wins in Indianapolis and Chicago, the latter a December game for the dome team. Naturally, these wins never happened, and for the hubris Saints fans demonstrated, the football gods punished New Orleans by making them miss the playoffs with a 7-9 record, highlighted by a loss to the 3-13 Rams.
