Denver fans expected their team to deliver a 2007 regular-season record that matched the accomplishments of the 1998 Super Bowl champion Broncos. But their 14-2 prediction became an impossibility by Week 5, when the Broncos lost to the Chargers 41-3, a defeat that dropped them to 2-3 on the season. Denver fans not only overestimated their team, but they underestimated the NFC North, predicting their team would go 4-0 against the Black and Blue division.
