Vote: San Francisco 49ers in 2008

49ers

The 2008 NFL schedule is out! And that means it's time to start overanalyzing each team's schedule and making predictions for 2008. Sure, the NFL draft may not have arrived yet and training camps are months away, but that's not going to stop SportsNation from getting its picks in, right? But before you get to prognosticating, let's take a look back and see how SportsNation has fared in its quest to predict the 49ers' record in each of the past two years:

SportsNation Schedule Prediction History
2006
2007
SN Prediction:
7-9
11-5
Actual record:
7-9
5-11

Reverse The Numbers
49ers fans were spot on with their first three picks of the 2007 season, correctly forecasting wins against Arizona and St. Louis, as well as a loss at Pittsburgh. After that, things got ugly. The 11-5 prediction by 49ers Nation did not come close to the 5-11 season delivered by Mike Nolan's men. You got the numbers right -- you just put them in the reverse order. There must have been a mirror in that crystal ball of yours. Some of the more optimistic, but failed, picks included away wins against the Seahawks, Giants and Browns. Better luck this year!
