Avery Johnson is out in Dallas.
Coaching changes continue to sweep across the NBA landscape, as the Dallas Mavericks and coach Avery Johnson parted ways on Wednesday. Under Johnson, the Mavericks enjoyed remarkable regular-season success, going 194-70 during his tenure. Playoff success, however, was harder to come by; although the Mavericks reached the 2005-06 NBA Finals with Johnson, their more recent first-round woes spelled the end for the coach in Big D.

But was Johnson's firing justified? And now that he is gone, will Dallas continue to experience a franchise face-lift with changes in player personnel?
