Bud Selig has already instituted baseball's version of the World Cup with the World Baseball Classic, but will he be copying the UEFA Champions League next?

Selig's latest pet project is the idea of a global World Series, where the winners of baseball championships in Major League Baseball and Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball would compete in a series to determine a true world champion. The idea is still in its infancy, although Selig supposedly wants to hold one before he retires in 2012. Is this a good idea, SportsNation? Would you watch MLB's best take on Japan's champs?
