The Lakers may have won their second straight championship last season, but this year, the talk is all about the Heat.
There's a good reason (or, more accurately, three good reasons) for the Heat's time in the spotlight, as the combination of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will go a long way toward securing Miami a spot in the Finals. That's not to say that everything has already been decided in the East, however. The Celtics are ready to make one last push for a title with their core group of players, having added Shaquille O'Neal in the offseason. The Magic promise to be a thorn in the Heat's side in the Southeast Division. Even bottom-feeders like the Wizards and Knicks made big additions to their starting fives (John Wall and Amare Stoudemire, respectively).
In the West, the Lakers are still the team to beat, although their time in the spotlight may be coming to an end. Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder could make things very interesting in the playoffs, especially with Durant having made a significant leap during the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The West also features several veteran teams that are hungry for championships -- the Suns with Steve Nash, the Mavericks with Dirk Nowitzki and the Rockets with a rehabilitated Yao Ming.
