With the New Jersey Nets' season off to a rocky start, the Nets have fired head coach Byron Scott.

Scott and the Nets are coming off two straight appearances in the NBA Finals, but they have stumbled to a 22-20 start this season. Scott's relationship with his players has been spotty, and his chief critic has been his point guard, Jason Kidd, who was tight with Scott's former assistant, Eddie Jordan.

Did Jason Kidd have something to do with Scott's demise? Or was this just a move whose time had come?
