Vote: Jimy Williams Fired

Williams took over for Larry Dierker after the 2001 season.

The Houston Astros, who find themselves 10.5 games back in the NL Central at the All-Star break, have fired manager Jimy Williams, replacing him with former Astros infielder Phil Garner.

Was Williams to blame for the lackluster performance of a team many predicted to reach the first World Series for the first time this season? Should the fire sale start now or is there still light at the end of the 2004 tunnel for Garner?
