In the wake of the initial Maurice Clarett court victory against the NFL, wide receiver Mike Williams withdrew from USC, signed with an agent and accepted over $100,000 in advance money. However, when the courts reversed the Clarett decision, Williams found himself in a no-man's land and was denied reinstatement by the NCAA.
