Ichiro George Sisler has had the single-season hits record in his grasp for 84 years. In the process of setting the record of 257 hits in 1920, Sisler slammed 49 doubles, 18 triples and 19 home runs. As for Ichiro, 85 percent of his hits have been singles. Does that in any way diminish his pursuit of the record? What about the fact Ichiro will play in eight more games than Sisler? Cast your vote!
