Pirates, Cardinals knotted at 2
What started as a dream turned into an almost nightmare for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who went from possible National League Division Series winners to near no-hit victims thanks to the exploits of Michael Wacha on Monday. In the end Wacha again couldn't close the hitless deal -- it lasted 7 1/3 innings -- but his St. Louis Cardinals still won 2-1, tying the series at two with a trip to the Heartland coming Wednesday.
