Mexico so close to World Cup

Mexico didn't qualify for the World Cup on Wednesday; the rules made that impossible. But with a 5-1 win over New Zealand at Estadio Azteca, El Tri can probably begin booking travel to Brazil. New Zealand now needs an unlikely 4-0 win in the return leg, or a victory by five or more goals, in order to trump suddenly resurgent Mexico. In other words, it's not too early to start thinking about El Tri's chances in 2014.
