Red Sox sign Pierzynski

The Red Sox seem to have moved on from Jarrod Saltalamacchia, as they've signed A.J. Pierzynski to be their new catcher. Pierzynski may be something of a stopgap, as the Red Sox have a few catching prospects on the verge of making it to the majors, but if his numbers from last year are any indication, he's a definite offensive downgrade from Saltalamacchia. The Red Sox seem to be willing to deal with that, however, over signing Saltalamacchia to a likely three-year deal.
