Rangers agree with Choo

The Rangers had already added offensive punch by trading for Prince Fielder. Now they've given Fielder a baserunner to drive in, agreeing with free-agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo for a reported seven years and $130 million. Choo was one of the game's best leadoff hitters last season in Cincinnati, with a .423 on-base percentage, 20 steals and 107 runs scored. His arrival also suggests the team might not try to re-sign Nelson Cruz. But it remains to be seen whether the investment in offense will keep the Rangers from collapsing down the stretch, as they did in the past two seasons.
