Redskins hire Jay Gruden

The Redskins didn't waste much time finding a replacement for Mike Shanahan, reportedly hiring Jay Gruden as their next head coach. Gruden, the brother of former head coach and current ESPN analyst Jon Gruden, helped bring the Bengals to the playoffs in each of his three seasons as the team's offensive coordinator, although they had difficulty translating their high-powered offense to the postseason. Gruden's task is clear, if difficult: help Robert Griffin III regain his 2012 form and turn Washington into a team that contends for -- and wins -- Super Bowls.
