The end of extra points?
The extra point seems as ingrained in football as the forward pass. Then again, said forward pass once didn't exist. So perhaps it's not so outlandish what NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is suggesting: the elimination of the post-touchdown kick. That's right -- to Goodell, the extra point is almost pointless, and a new system might be in the offing. One idea, according to the commish, involves seven points being automatically given for a TD, with the scoring team able to attempt a two-point conversion-like play that would net them one more point if successful -- and take one away if missed. What's your take?
