Clowney defends his stats
Jadeveon Clowney had far fewer big hits as a sophomore than he did as a freshman -- his sacks dropped from 13.5 to 3 and his tackles for a loss from 23.5 to 11.5. This might be a sign of concern to some, but not Clowney; he laughed off criticism of his drop in statistics in a recent interview. To be fair to Clowney, a drop like that could be attributed to many factors -- any coach who watched his famous hit on Vincent Smith in film rooms would likely make double-teaming him a priority during any matchup. Clowney also said that he thinks college athletes should be paid, although if he ends up getting picked No. 1, money will be the least of his worries.
