Warning: There will be excessive talk about baseball teams residing in the I-95 corridor in the next few sentences. Sorry, but at least for the middle portion of this week, the Northeast really is front and center on the diamond (with apologies to the Texas duel between the Rangers and Blue Jays). Tuesday night, the Red Sox moved into a first-place tie in the AL East by beating the Yankees for the sixth time in a row, while the Mets trail the Phillies by just two games after beating their rival despite a so-so Johan Santana.

SportsNation blogger CP3swish think David Ortiz's home run is yet another sign the Yankees are, dare we day, cursed against their old rival.

For more on these teams, check out some of their fan groups.
