The day couldn't go by without a post on that legendary sports figure of the past few decades mulling retirement. Because unless we hear reports that he's mocking high schoolers in Mississippi, it appears the San Diego Chicken may be hanging up the tights.
Like a lot of things (reality television, espresso drinks, blogs ... oops), the Chicken was pretty entertaining as an original, but many of its successors fell flat -- intentionally and otherwise. Or maybe we're just killjoys; what's your take on the Chicken, Phillie Phanatic, Stanford Tree, Dennis Rodman and other costumed wonders?
