There's no "team" in "world's greatest individual athlete."

And while there are "rude latte vendors" and "erstwhile druids," we're pretty sure those don't have much potential as good sports clichés.

Tiger Woods fell just short of adding to his trophy case when his putter faltered at the U.S. Open. Rafael Nadal won't be adding the second part of back-to-back Wimbledon titles after withdrawing from the tournament, but that does open the door for Roger Federer to capture grand slam No. 15. And Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps, well, they're both still really fast.

But just how do five of the world's greatest individual athletes stack up against each other?
