If you don't know the guy on the right, you don't know the world's game. And to all those who think we just complimented them, you're welcome. Heathens.

Fernando Torres, here seen failing miserably in an audition to referee Australian rules football, is one of the world's best soccer players and part of why Spain is the world's best team at the moment. Stopping him is just one of many challenges awaiting the United States in today's Confederations Cup semifinal between the two teams.

After this tournament the US team will go back to being as relevant as the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL. That is really the issue, this country is so tepid regarding any support for futbol. If we supported the soccer team like we support the Red Sox, Yankees, Giants or Patriots, things might begin to change, albeit slowly. We are too arrogant to understand that we are not a world power in something, and it is going to be like climbing Everest just to get into the top 10-20 teams in the world.

It's funny how Spain's comments seem to respect the United States, and yet United States fan don't even respect the team
