It's a good thing it's been four years since Roger Federer's next opponent, Robin Soderling, took a set off the No. 2 seed. Besides trying to complete the difficult feat of back-to-back French Open and Wimbledon titles, Federer goes into the second week of play knowing he must win the title to regain his No. 1 ranking. And oh, yeah, he can stake a claim as the greatest player in tennis history with a 15th Grand Slam title.
Perhaps Federer's main competition comes from the next generation of British men's tennis, Andy Murray, who faces more than a few expectations from his countrymen. The No. 3 seed, Murray, cruised through his last match, but he's never reached the semis at Wimbledon. If he were to win his home major, he'd be 5 points short of taking over the No. 1 ranking. He would also, perhaps, help bring some sunshine back to his hometown of Dunblane -- which has been clouded by tragedy ever since 1996.

I don't follow tennis much, but from what I have read and heard on Andy, he is exactly what this town needs -- a hero.
