The question of who should belong on the roster of each league's All-Star team consumes sports fans each year. Fans are presented with a bewildering array of choices, each with its own pros and cons. It's no wonder so many people just vote for their hometown team's candidates. Life's confusing enough, you know? Besides, most of you prefer the Home Run Derby anyway.

Fortunately for us, we have Rob Neyer to lead fans through the wilds of baseball history, like a combination of Bill James and Dr. Livingston. Neyer has selected the best All-Stars since the game started in 1933, combining them into one exceptionally talented all-time team. We've got everyone from Lefty Grove to Pedro Martinez, Jackie Robinson to Joe Morgan, Babe Ruth to Barry Bonds.

Don't think we're letting you off that easily, however. You still have to (scratch that -- you GET to) choose the team's starters. For some debates, like the one we mentioned above, the choice is clear, but for others? You'll have to use your brains, SportsNation. Scary, we know. We try to do it as little as possible.

Should both the Expos and Nationals get a player? After all it is the same team that just moved - same with the NY Giants and SF Giants. Clemente definitely deserves to be listed here, say, from his 1967 season when he batted .357 with an OPS of .954, both much better than Tim Raines. I'd take Cordero off the list and put Bob Gibson in his place, then sub 1994 Larry Walker for Raines, and Clemente for Ryan Braun (put Yount on the AL team - The Brewers shouldn't get a rep for both leagues and they spent more time in the AL).

I'm sorry, I'm a big Cardinals fan, but Ozzie is overrated. I know this is blasphemy in St. Louis, but he simply wasn't a great hitter. Best fielding SS of all time? Sure. I'd still rather have Renteria in his prime than Ozzie Smith.

Can you honestly tell me that Roberto Clemente is not worthy of a spot on this team? Make Pedro the Expos rep and get rid of Tim Raines, that's crazy.

Not too bad but putting Evan Longoria on this team is VERY premature
