Step away from the Roy Halladay rumors. Come on, you can do it; just put them down, step back and take a deep breath. While everyone wonders where the Blue Jays ace will land at the trade deadline (and how much he claimed in future earnings with that gem Sunday against the Red Sox), there are other stories in the baseball world.

Two divisions boast three teams with at least 50 wins. Not surprisingly, one is the AL East, where the Red Sox, Yankees and Rays continue doing battle. But the NL West is also in the club after the Giants and Rockies won Sunday. In San Francisco, it's a far cry from a year ago, when the Giants were 40-58 on this date.

The Giants came back to earth pretty quickly losing 2 of 3 to the pirates. Are you a believer / think they will win the wildcard? Who do you think they should go out and get?

I really like their story this year. They are better than I thought they would be. I think they have a chance to win the wild card, which they did not at the beginning of the season. But I don't think they'll make it unless they acquire a big bat. I'm just not sure who that bat would be. They need Matt Holliday, but is he at the top of his game? The better shot is a guy like Nick Johnson, but I'm not sure he answers their need for a big-time power hitter. I know they are looking around, I just don't see them making it to the playoffs without another bat. Full transcript.

Do you really think the Giants are going to pull the trigger and get a bat over here!

3DP -- yup, I do. Corner outfielder/first base type. That market is beginning to develop, but Nick Johnson might be a good fit. Full transcript.
