If anything is certain about the recently announced welterweight title fight between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao, it's that it'll be a matchup of two of the world's best fighters. Cotto's last bout was a bloody and contentious victory over Joshua Clottey, and while there may be only one Ricky Hatton, three might not have been enough to stop Manny Pacquiao in his May win.

Dan Rafael ranks Pacquiao as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, but Cotto isn't far behind at No. 6. Admittedly, Cotto has never run for Congress, but honestly, political experience only tangentially applies to a sport where one must punch another man in the face repeatedly.

Fans didn't always think so highly of Pacquiao. Prior to his TKO victory over Oscar De La Hoya, SportsNation thought Pacquiao would lose, with many thinking he'd be knocked out. That impression has changed significantly, however, as an overwhelming majority see him as better than even the great Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Last 2 fights of Cotto against Margarito and Clottey pushed him to the brick. Even Mayweather said that Cotto is declining and wasnt the same old Cotto. And picked Pacquiao over Cotto, people forget that Pacquiao keeps getting better and better. TKO'ed Diaz, Dela Hoya, and Hatton i know this will be tough fight for Pacquiao but every trainers says "speed kill" He will dance around Cotto and pick him piece by piece.

Roach is a smart dude for trying to get Cotto drained but i don't think it will be an issue at 145. Cotto's fight against Clottey he was at 146, i think he will be alright...
