We always wondered what happened to John from Cincinnati after his show went off the air. Good to see he's made an easy transition to SEC football fan, apparently of the Ole Miss persuasion. And who can blame him? If you've been to the Grove before a game, you know it's pretty close to heaven.
The aforementioned John (although perhaps not that one) was in chat when ESPN.com SEC blogger Chris Low stopped by to take questions Monday. With the hubbub over Steve Spurrier's supposedly miscast vote for All-SEC quarterback finally dying down, Low turned his attention to all the questions about Georgia, LSU, Arkansas and the rest of the SEC. Which we promptly ignored to pull out some interesting exchanges on Tebow and Jevan Snead. What can we say, we're controversy mongers.
Jon (FL)
Do you think Tebow will do well in the NFL?
Chris Low
If he goes to a team that tailors its offense around his strengths. He's never going to be a classic drop-back passer, but if there's one thing we've learned about him, it's not to doubt him. If I had a first-round pick, there's no way I'd pass him up.
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
If you had a first round pick and took Tebow, you would never have another first round pick - you'd be fired.
Chris Low
I can think of a whole lot worst first-round picks over the years than Tebow, and many of those general managers kept their jobs. It's all going to play out soon enough, and we're going to have our answer on Tebow and the NFL. I wonder if all those GMs in rounds 1-6 that passed on Tom Brady were fired.
john (cincinnati)
chris,do you think jevan snead goes pro after this season?
Chris Low
Glad you asked the question, because I think Snead will be drafted higher than Tebow and is cut from the mold all the NFL people like. Some of the NFL people I've talked to think he will be a top 5 or top 10 pick if he comes out following this season. If that's the case and he plays well and stays healthy, then yes, I think he will come out. Full transcript.
