Now about that other guy. You know, the one who fell apart at the British Open and is distracted by his bum knee, parental responsibilities, global domination or all of the above.

Woods was closer to John Daly than the top of the leaderboard after the first round of the Buick Open in Michigan, but he rallied to win the event by three strokes. Looks like that busy schedule is agreeing with him. Consider how SportsNation's vote has changed when it comes to Woods winning the upcoming PGA Championship.

After the British Open debacle, almost two out of every three SportsNation voters thought Tiger's best golf was behind him. Perhaps that's still the case, but it now seems the majority of those who don't think the current version is on par with past versions are at least leaving open the door that he might get there again.

And we're not saying the 'Nation is down on the Lions or anything, but an overwhelming majority expect Tiger, who earned career win No. 69 Sunday not too far from Ford Field, to finish with more career wins than Matthew Stafford. Somewhere Scott Mitchell is smiling.

As much as I like Tiger as a player, personally I find him boring and dull and hate his interviews, I have always disliked his lack of comebacks, so this is a step in the right direction in my mind.

The same people that complain that TW should enter more tourneys are the same ones complaining that he just beat a weak field.
