Page 2 is looking for SportsNation's stories about how favorite teams come to earn such status. Did you inherit your allegiances from family members? Did geography settle things? Those plastic helmets from Dairy Queen?

But while you continue to send in your stories, you've got us wondering about a related issue. Is it ever all right to give up on a franchise?

SportsNation blogger thehunter000 makes a case for why he's a former Buccaneers fan.

"The first thing was Warrick Dunn. When Warrick Dunn was cut loose, I almost couldn't stand it. This guy builds houses for single moms, feeds families during the holidays, and does countless miracles in the community. So he is rewarded by being cut? That was the first straw. I almost renounced my allegiance then and there. And it didn't help that they won the Super Bowl when he was gone with a bad guy as their RB. But they still had Alstott. And they did send Dunn a ring, which was an awesome gesture.

"Then came another load of straws. Sapp was released. LYNCH was released. I'll even stop right there. These guys have been there through everything. Lynch went in and offered to take a pay cut and was told "No, we don't want you" basically. And was gone. Those 2...that was almost as much as I could take." -- Read the full post.

What's the verdict, SportsNation?
