Given the way the season is going for the Mets, Roger Federer undoubtedly is the best bet fans in Queens have of seeing six wins in a row at home. And home is exactly what Federer has made the tennis courts in New York while capturing the last five U.S. Opens.

Asked which of Federer, Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant and Albert Pujols would leave the greatest sporting legacy, more SportsNation voters tabbed Federer than any of the domestic stars. And dominating both Wimbledon, SportsNation's favorite big event, and the one that takes place within our borders, isn't a bad way to earn that kind of cred.

At the same time, after hopping on the Y.E. Yang bandwagon, we can't help but wonder if something other than a Federer win -- be it from a gimpy Rafael Nadal or a true sleeper -- might make the next two weeks more interesting.

Being a Roger Federer loyalist, I still believe that this graceful freak of nature believes boldly in being the best, not of all time necessarily but for as long as he plays. Roddick and Del Potro are serious contenders, yet it will be the same kind of tournament as before when Roger is at his best; everyone else will kill each other for that shot to play in the final.

Serena is like a college student who doesn't go to lectures, copies someone elses notes, studies like crazy the night before the exam, and gets 100%. Does she even train? The only reason she's a favorite is because she only gives a hoot about eight weeks out of the year-the Slams. When will she and her supporters realize that only taking the Slams seriously is the wrong way to go about things?
