The NFL preseason is occasionally a passable substitute (at least judging by how many people watched the Vikings and Texans on Monday Night Football), but Thursday brings the start of college football and the arrival of games that count.
So like Scrooge McDuck swimming in his money, we choose to revel in the opulence of a full fall schedule and pick out five of the biggest games ahead.
- SportsNation blogger nunyabiz81, who has curiously split loyalties with Michigan, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia and Memphis listed as favorite teams, runs through her self-proclaimed "pointless" top 10, which actually makes numerous good points. Florida is No. 1, but she predicts the Gators will lose and names LSU the best bet to beat them.
- For those more interested in the moment, blogger Sportsguru6 returns with 10 games to watch for the opening weekend of college football. Thursday's game between Oregon and Boise State checks in at No. 4.
