Our own Herm Edwards once famously noted NFL teams play to win the game, and as Ben Roethlisberger demonstrated yet again Thursday night, he does that more frequently than most. But does that make him a great quarterback or a great quarterback for the Steelers?

Baseball long ago discarded wins as the best measure of a pitcher's effectiveness because it's a number too dependent on things beyond the pitcher's control. But wins, especially postseason wins and Super Bowl rings, are still the gridiron gold standard.

Michael Wilbon said earlier this week that Roethlisberger is the best quarterback in the league. And when called on Thursday, Big Ben led an unusually prolific aerial assault with 363 yards. He also threw a pair of picks and needed late drives to escape with the 13-10 overtime win. So is he really in the same class as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning?

ANYONE who says that Roethlisberger is not the best "clutch" QB in the NFL, should be in a sanitarium........when he needs to, the man performs.......

What saved the steelers was the fact that Chuck Cecil is awful! roethlisberger cracks under pressure in the pocket. So why did chuck decide to drop back and rush just the 4 down lineman from the end of the second quarter until the end of the game
