It's not just you; college football really is going crazy. A year ago at this time, four weeks into the regular season, you had to go all the way to No. 14 Ohio State to find a ranked team with a loss, and 18 teams in the top 25 were perfect. One year later, four of the current top nine teams already own losses and only 11 teams in the top 25 are perfect.

Blaming the media and coaches who do things like rank Ole Miss No. 4 is all the rage, but SportsNation's preseason poll isn't looking much better as October approaches. Nonetheless, a movement is building to rank teams based on only the evidence at hand.

nunyabiz81: "Even if you're one of those who now believes Alabama is the best team in the nation ... you could argue their only real tough game in the SEC would be Florida in the SEC championship game. Arkansas did nothing against them, and no one believes in Ole Miss anymore. Frankly, LSU has looked overrated all season long, and Auburn's defense won't be able to stop Alabama. Aside from MS State, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, the SEC has a license to screw up or nearly do so and never have it held against them. " -- Read the full post.

Monkeyduck2008: "My Top Ten will involve teams who have quality wins, and not just a [prestigious] program, it doesn't mean who would actually win on a neutral site or anything.

1, Alabama
2. Boise State
3. Houston
4. Cincinnati
5. Florida
6. Michigan
7. Texas
8. LSU
9. TCU
10. Michigan"
