Vote: If the Olympics come to Chicago, will you be there?

Who would have thought Chicago might play host to both a World Cup and an Olympics before Wrigley Field hosted another World Series game? All right, so everyone who ever rooted for the Cubs probably thought that, but the Windy City, which hosted games in soccer's showcase event back in 1994, may add the 2016 Olympics to its resume.

With President Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, among others that don't include Michael Jordan, on hand in Copenhagen to lobby, the IOC will announce Friday whether the Games go to Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid or Tokyo.

Truth be told, we don't know much about Olympic politics. What we do know is that if Chicago lands the Games, we want to see Jay Cutler mimic the Barcelona archer and ignite the torch -- or an unsuspecting Ukrainian pentathalete in the general vicinity of the torch -- with a flaming football. Is that too much to ask?

the World Cup dwarfs the Olympics as a world competition and viewership, and I would much rather get the 2018 or 2022 WC over the Olympics.

If the point of the Olympics is boosting tourism revenue and the economy, then I'm all for Detroit 2016.
