These are heady times in the Twin Cities. Brett Favre (steady on, you may hear that name a few more times today) gets his first look at the Packers tonight on Monday Night Football. Tuesday brings the Twins trying to complete a less tiresome comeback when they face the Tigers in a playoff ... tiebreaker ... really big game.

And we haven't even gotten to Sunday's thriller in front of roughly 4,000 people that saw the Timberwolves torch the Bucks (Roko Ukic vs. Mustafa Shakur; it's fantastic!) in the NBA preseason. Or the Wisconsin Badgers improving to 5-0 and claiming Paul Bunyan's Axe by beating the Golden Gophers on the gridiron in Minneapolis Saturday. You usually need a snow shovel to have this much fun in Minnesota.

We've got plenty of questions about the Packers and Vikings and Tigers and Twins, but first and foremost, which game is a bigger deal?

    • Gary HortonI haven't focused in on the Eagles defense in the recent weeks, but they're not making as many big plays as we're used to. They're good, but just not like we're used to. They're a hard team to get a handle on. Even without Westbrook, I love LeSean McCoy. With their younger WRs, they can be devastating in the passing game. But I don't know their identity on defense. It's not a bad thing, but I keep waiting for them to go to an elite status and they almost play down to their competition. But everybody in the NFC East is doing that.
    • Shane (Los Angeles, CA)Mr. Horton, what is your take on the Cards' running game now? It looks like Beanie Wells has what it takes to be a smash mouth, downhill runner. Do you think opponents are going to have to "pick their poison" with the Cards now?
    • Gary HortonOh I think the run game with Wells and Hightower has a chance to be explosive with a 1-2 punch. What makes it even more dangerous is the fact you have to defend the multiple WR matchups which puts you in nickel and dime personnel and that makes it easy to run against. And Kurt Warner is good off of play action. Right now, defenses have to sit back and play honest and honor the run, instead of double covering the WRs outside. This has always been a great offense without a real threat of a run game. But if this stays consistent with Wells as a power runner and Hightower as a changeup and receiver out of the backfield, it's going to be tough to defend these guys out of the stretch.
    • Paul (Denver)How many things need to be fixed in order for Cutler and the Bears to get back on track?
