So is everyone excited about a Stanford-Cincinnati Rose Bowl? That's not actually one of the pairings Mark Schlabach and Bruce Feldman came up with in their bowl projections this week, but it's at least within the realm of possibility for teams that currently sit atop the Pac-10 and Big East, respectively. One team that may be in BCS trouble, despite an upset win against Oklahoma, is Miami, which probably would trade future considerations and the alumni rights to Bernie Kosar to get into the ACC's Atlantic Division right about now.

With Florida and Texas both resting up, SportsNation bloggers looked elsewhere for their muse this past weekend.

Right now I can see VT, Miami and maybe BC and Wake as being the best teams. It was a joke listening to Bobby Bowden talk about the problems of the Seminoles after the BC loss. They were out coached and outplayed by a staff that is paid less and players who have less talent." Read the full post.

nunyabiz81: "The two teams that seem to be in Stanford's way of doing so at all are Oregon and USC. And we know both of those teams are capable of meltdowns at interesting times. Then again, Stanford might stand in their own way, as well. Very nice offense, and I'm even starting to hear Gerhart's name in Heisman discussions now that Best is ... not the best. But in a couple games, Stanford has built leads and then let the other team come back for a chance to win--and Stanford did lose one of those games like that (Wake Forest). They will need to learn to fight in the 4th quarter in order to win some of their other games, especially against Notre Dame--a team that likes to win late. Right now, though, they are the leader of the Pac." Read the full post.
