Although fans of the Giants and Saints, not to mention the Broncos, Vikings and Colts, are still dreaming of perfection and championship celebrations, most fans have entered the phase of their relationship with a team where the flaws that once were ignored easily now grate like nails on a chalkboard. The new coach's quirky bravado is fine until he embarrasses you in public. The loyalty to an old friend is charming until he keeps coming up empty on rushing plays. A lot of fans are beginning to wonder whether there's really any future to this relationship.

    NHL with Scott Burnside
    • Scott BurnsideDennis; See above (below?). I think there are lots of interesting things going on with the Avs and Craig Anderson is the real deal so that's a huge problem that has been addressed. But they're still pretty young and I'm not sure the defense is built to get them into the post-season no matter how good Anderson is or how many games he plays (which appears to be all but a handful).
    • Adam (Los Angeles)Carolina, do they have any hope of making the playoffs? Rutherford says they have to be at .500 by the end of December, I think that means they need to go something like 11-4, is it plausible?
    • Scott BurnsideAdam; I think that's asking a lot from the 'Canes especially without Cam Ward and Eric Staal. Still, I don't think they're completely out of it. The good thing for them is the Eastern Conference is full of pretty ordinary teams so there is ground to be made up.
    • Douglas (Chicago)Hey Scott, A lot of trade humors have Barker and/or Sopel being traded? Any truth behind them. I have no problem saying goodbye to Sopel, but I do not want to see Barker go.
