Alcohol plays a prominent role in tailgating. Rowdiness at games is encouraged and celebrated.

Sometimes, however, fans cross the line with boorish behavior, fighting and abusive language.

Stadium security personnel at schools such as Auburn are fighting back with technology, encouraging fans to contact them by text message when the situation near them gets out of control. Fans can also use the system to report problems such as broken seats or dirty bathrooms.

ESPN would like to hear your story. What is the worst experience you've had with other fans at a game? Did you report a problem? How did the game day staff there handle the problem?

Tune in to "Outside the Lines" on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. for a full discussion of the topic.

    • Mel KiperThis is what you look forward to. Football on Thursday. Friday, college football all day. Then a big Saturday of college football and Sunday and Monday NFL. Two great games Sunday night and Monday night. We also have a traditional high school rivalry game here Thursday morning. And a lot of good eating with the turkey, pumpkin pie, dressing and all of that.
    • Justin (Wellsville,OH)Do you think Weis desewrves to stick around for one more yr.? He seems to come closer every yr. I understand the prestige of ND. I have been a fan all my life. But to get rid of him do you already have to have another BIG name in the works?
