Mark Schlabach contends the college football season is on its way to being a flop, if it hasn't already arrived at that destination. And SportsNation's thoughts on the Heisman Trophy offer little in the way of counterpoint. The lead has changed hands each week (granted, last week's transfer of power came courtesy of ballot-stuffing efforts in support of Ndamukong Suh that would Chicago politicians blush).

Matt (AL)

Does Mark Ingram still have a shot at the heisman after fumbling at the most crucial time and getting only 99 yds last week?

It doesn't help him, but he still gained right at 100 yards against a very good Tennessee defense. Again, I think the Heisman is wide open, and if Ingram continues to put up numbers, he will be right there in the mix. Full transcript.

Phil (Chicago)

Since no one is reaching out and grabbing the Heisman shouldn't the most consistent performer (Jimmy Clausen) this year be the front runner? I'm sure your going to say he should have pulled out the game against USC. When he puts up 34 and 27 in the 2 loses its hard to blame him.

He has a chance, along with everyone else with a pulse and some stats. It's up for grabs. But do you give him the Heisman Trophy based on fourth-quarter comebacks vs. Michigan State and Purdue? I don't know. He's No. 4 on my ballot this week.. Full transcript.
