Joe Girardi can't seem to do anything right these days. Well, other than manage a team with the best record in baseball and reach the World Series while losing just two games in the first two rounds of the playoffs, that is. But that's the thing with Girardi -- on the macro level, he seems to be doing just fine. But zoom to the micro level, and there are those wondering if he's riding through this season like Forrest Gump through 20th-century milestones.

Keith Law is not Girardi's biggest proponent, as you can hear from his recent visit with the Mikes on "Mike & Mike" on ESPN Radio (click to the left to listen, around the 3:30 mark). In the diplomatic version, Law essentially said Girardi is managing the Yankees like they are Whitey Herzog's Cardinals. In the less diplomatic version, he wrote the Yankees would be best served to "hog-tie" the skipper and leave him in a locker.

So is Girardi in over his head in the World Series or ready to answer his critics?
