The Yankees win championship No. 27 and elicit either adulation or anger from anyone with a pulse. Tiger Woods dominates the golf world and television ratings fall off a cliff when he isn't in contention on Sunday. Jimmie Johnson finds himself on the cusp of an unprecedented fourth consecutive title in NASCAR ... and SportsNation yawns.

He can sample all the Dos Equis he wants; it appears Johnson might be the least interesting man in the world.

But with news that Danica Patrick appears to be on the verge of signing up for a part-time gig with Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Nationwide team, presumably the first step toward an eventual place behind the wheel in Sprint Cup, we're wondering if Johnson's dominance is even the most interesting story in his own sport?

Let's just all take a moment and thank God for DVR/Tivo. It will be our only defense against the non-stop litany of nausiating Junior and/or Danica commercials.

She doesn't have the skill to run NASCAR. She'll make Shawna Robinson look like Richard Petty. Let her come over and fail, fine by me.
