john_bridges: "I think about how Stephen Strasburg returned for the Nationals right at the end of the season. What was the point? It's partially to get people to stop talking about it the entire offseason and to help him focus on baseball next season instead of fielding questions about his arm for months. Maybe the same could be said about Manning."
BrianCB1972: "I have to wonder how much Peyton is considering retirement right now. I mean, he has had several neck surgeries, made hundreds of millions of dollars, and he has accomplished basically everything you can accomplish in the game."
ftjavier: "You never FULLY recover from neck surgeries, and with a brutal game like football, where a sack or fall can hurt an already damaged neck, the Colts need to draft a QB. And if that QB just happens to be Luck, then you go for it. "
Unbiased1969: "If Colts fans are rooting for Andrew Luck in the draft then that also means they are rooting for Peyton Manning to get cut. Come the end of this season, Manning will either be 100 percent going into 2012 (for his final 4-5 years), or the Colts will draft Luck and kick Manning to the curb. Never thought I'd see that day. $28 million is too much to have 'mentoring' your replacement."
stanmerr: "Are all of you blind? Luck would get killed on this team with this offense they have now. Why do you think Manning doesn't get sacked that much? He has the ability to read all the defenses he plays and gets the ball off quicker than anyone in history of the game. Luck may or may not be a good QB, but if Manning is healthy, I said if, he will be the Colts starter for the next four years, and they will build around him and win at least one more Super Bowl!"
