The Jets were early suitors for Peyton Manning, but a three-year extension for Mark Sanchez seems to have taken them out of the race. Unless they plan on using them in some sort of hybrid Wildcat system, which would be incredibly strange. Sanchez has struggled as of late, but the Jets seem to be hitching their wagon to him -- at least for now.
A missed oppportunity?
The AFC East isn't exactly the easiest division in football, so adding a QB the caliber of Peyton Manning could have gone a long way.
Ryan or Sanchez?
Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez's fates seem to be intertwined, which means this contract could make or break them both.
Ryan has promised Super Bowl after Super Bowl in his time in New York, but so far he and Sanchez haven't been able to deliver.
