A recent BCS memo has revealed that the series is considering a playoff system in a number of different configurations. Will this lead to a change in college football?
UCF_Grad04: "The 4 team 'plus' option sounds like a disaster waiting to happen."
foolimug64: "Also, if you're going to do it, do it right and do at least an 8 game playoff. It would be much more representative of a 'National' champion since there is far too little interconference play."
king oja: "It's a slippery slope. I would prefer an 8 team playoff, but if the 4 team playoff becomes a reality it will only be a matter of time before the NCAA decides to expand. They always expand."
cannic88: "The BCS is going to try to fix it and make it even worse. And how would it devalue the regular season...so the March Madness tourney devalues the regular season...please."
jrfan172: "unless we go to a 16 or 12 team format there shouldn't be a playoff format."
mrkr1171: "Either way ya cut it, its a lose-lose situation for the BCS. If they use a 4-team playoff it will exclude those teams from the traditional big bowls that use certain conferences such as Sugar, Orange, FIesta, Rose. Which would make Bowl comittees mad. Or, they keep the current way of doing things, and make fans mad."
