SEC coaches want a theoretical four-team college football playoff to include the four best teams in the country, not the major conference champions. Would you have a problem with this?
atekas: "The National Championship is to crown the best team in the NATION. If you win your conference, you are the best in your region. Then you go on to play the best of the other regions. To prove you are the best in the NATION. "
Dave1737: "I remember when Utah hammered Alabama in a BCS game. Using conf affiliation to determine quality is a mistake we have seen play out over and over again thanks to the BCS the last 12/13 years. Either require conference champions or expand the playoff."
robloy123: "Take the best 4 teams. Regardless of conference affiliation."
rumelpob: "This is all bogus. If you want to pretend that the regular season is important, then in what way does it make sense to allow a team that didn't win their conference? "
FlapJackMcGraw: "People don't want to see rematches in bowl games, why would they want to see rematches is playoffs? "
Crimson.White: "The best four, regardless of conference affiliation, is the only way to do it. As an Alabama alum, I hope that the SEC will always benefit most from this plan, but if they don't it will still give us the truest national champion we can have. "
huskermania123: "Here's my 2 cents... top 4 conference winners (can rank the conferences based on 'strength' since there are more than 4) and it turns into a regional battle too. It is a more interesting NATIONAL event."
